Tattoo Removal
What is it?Tattoo removal works but some tattoos are harder to remove than others. Older tattoos, stick-and-poke tattoos are easier to remove than fresh ones. The colors, size and the complexity of the design can all be factors as well.
How does it work?
At 67 Degrees Cosmetic Clinic, we offer two options for tattoo removal, both are effective and require little to no downtime:
PicoWay is a high power laser with ultra short pulses that shatters tattoo ink, but leaves the outer layer of the skin intact. The PicoWay laser treats a wide range of tattoo colors across a broad range of skin types. Over a series of brief treatments, the PicoWay laser can eliminate most tattoos, even difficult-to-treat blue and green tattoos.

ClearLift is a high-powered Q-switched laser that can operate 2 different wavelengths to be effective with darker colors, brighter colors like red and orange.
The treatment breaks down the ink particles without causing damage to the skin. This is achieved by a Photo-Acoustic effect created by the impact of the laser energy delivered with very short pulses to the targeted ink.

Typically, multiple treatment sessions are needed. Results vary depending on size and color of the tattoo and how old it is.
Not all tattoos are equal. Some tattoos are easier to remove than others. For instance: Older tattoos are easier to remove since they are typically already faded. Tattoos that are less than a year old are much more challenging to eliminate. Size matters because the size of the tattoo may impact the number of treatments needed to eliminate it completely. Color makes a difference because not all lasers can remove every tattoo color at once. Different dyes respond differently to various wavelengths. Black tattoos are the easiest to fade because the laser can target the black pigment easier than it would red or blue shades. Green ink is notoriously difficult to remove. Skin color is also a big factor. People with fair skin and dark tattoos tend to have an easier time fading their ink than others since the laser can specifically target the tattoo pigment more easily.
Treatment with the PicoWay laser has low to no downtime. Most people can return to their activities of daily living shortly after treatment. You may need a bandage to keep the treatment area dry for a few days following tattoo removal.
