Sagging Skin
Saggy skin, on both the face and body, is often associated with the loss of fat or the reduction of collagen and elastin in the dermis.
Let’s personalize a treatment plan for your skin to “defy gravity”!
What are the causes?
While anyone can get saggy skin, the most common factors are
- Aging – As skin ages, we start to lose elastin and collagen which are the building blocks of skin elasticity and firmness.
- Sun exposure and pollutants – can speed up the deterioration of elastin and collagen and cause wrinkles and sagging.
- Weight loss – Carrying extra weight for an extended period of time can cause damage to the collagen and elastin fibers in your skin. Sagging skin is more likely to occur when weight loss is rapid because the damaged cells have lost their ability to snap back.
- Pregnancy – some saggy, loose skin is common after pregnancy around the abdomen area.
