VBeam®
RICHMOND ONLY
What is it?VBeam is a form of laser therapy that can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions. It was primarily developed for the treatment of port-wine stains but can also be used for everything from acne scars to facial and spider veins, scars, warts, rosacea and more.
How does it work?
VBeam is a Pulse Dye Laser (PDL) that is quick and safe for the removal of skin discolorations caused by vascular and/or pigmentation abnormalities. It is one of the most effective treatments for stubborn conditions such as redness, broken blood vessels and a wide variety of skin conditions.
The laser delivers an intense but gentle burst of light into selectively targeted areas of the skin. The light is absorbed by specific blood vessels or melanin pigmented areas in the dermis depending on the condition being treated. Factors such as the age, colour and type of lesions, as well as the location on the body, all determine whether lesions can be removed.
The photos show the before (pictured left) and after (pictured right) results for VBeam on acne and inflammation.

Frequently asked questions.
Below is more information you need to know about this treatment.
If you’re treating veins or cherry angiomas (very small red growths), you may see your final results within six weeks of one treatment.
For all other conditions, expect to have a series of three to five sessions, spaced a month apart. Between sessions, avoid direct sun and use sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher to help prevent new pigmentation issues.
Your face is cleansed before starting. You’ll put on goggles to protect your eyes from the laser light. As the session begins, your technician will move the laser across the pigmented area, briefly pressing the applicator tip into the skin.
A Vbeam treatment session could take only a few minutes—or it might take 30 minutes or longer, depending on the size of the treatment area.
