Lipodissolve
What is it?Lipodissolve is a procedure to reduce small areas of excess fat with a series of injectable drug: deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring enzyme in the gut.
How does it work?
When deoxycholic acid is injected into the target area, the fat cells break down and their cell membrane are destroyed, allowing the body to process the contents of the cells as waste. Due to only a small amount of fat being dissolved during injections, your body can easily manage the treatment of unwanted fat cells without any negative impact on your liver or kidneys. Results are usually permanent unless the patient is prone to gain excessive weight.

For 8 to 12 weeks, the treatment permanently reduces fat and the double chin becomes smaller. The amount of fat that breaks down varies from patient to patient and, therefore, the individual may need more than one treatment.
We generally recommend 2 to 4 treatments for a perfect result. A maximum of 6 treatments should be administered at least 4 weeks between each.
Your appointment will start with an analysis and assessment by your doctor, along with a photo so you can measure your progress later.
Then your provider will measure the treatment area and mark the injection sites. Next, they’ll sterilize the area. A topical numbing cream is applied 30 minutes before injecting to reduce discomfort.
A a series of small and quick injections are done. Depending on how much fullness you have and the number of vials you’ll need, the treatment can be between 15-30 minutes.
Bruises are expected in the treated area. The skin may still feel a bit numb immediately after the treatment and there may be mild tenderness and hardness in the area for several weeks after treatment. Other common side effects may include swelling, mild pain after treatment, and redness.
